Interdisciplinary learning is when you use your knowledge and skills from two different subjects and combine them together to create a good final product. As part of my Interdisciplinary learning we as Year 9 took our knowledge from the two subjects: IT and French, to create a website suitable for the Year 7's to use. I created a website where the Year 7's could come and learn three different topics that they might have or might not have learnt in school and the website that I created would help them boost their grades. This website is a useful invention that I created as the Year 7's in their free time could use this website to learn more French that could help them in school and it would be something similar to what they are already learning. The website that I created would help the Year 7 students because I included three different activities which were the Comprehension, Dialogue between two people and the vocabulary test which were the things that our teacher set us to do. We did these activities based on topics that the Year 7's would learn throughout the course of the year and they are all basic as the Year 7's are new to the language. The different topics were Family, Introducing Yourself and Classroom Objects and Colors. This website teaches them about these topics and they would be tested by the quizzes I created based on the topic each consisting of 10 questions that they would be able to do and it would help them for what they are doing in French class. I enjoyed most learning how to use wix which was the website I used to create my website and it was fun to see how it worked an how hard it is for people to put websites together. It was also fun to see that the website was online and published and that people would use something that I have created. The challenging tasks that I encountered during this unit were deciding on the designs and the templates I would use to create the website and how I would make it look attractive and good and easy to use for the Year 7's. To improve my website further, I could have maybe added more activities if our French teacher had let us do that. I would also make sure that there would be more pictures. I would also make sure the quiz works properly and they are the correct quizzes for the people to answer in the end. The benefits of Interdisciplinary learning is that you can use your skills from two different subjects and you can create something really good in the end. The skills like creating a website in IT or writing text and making questions in French and you can put those two together to create something usable. The limitations of interdisciplinary learning is that if you are not able to do something in one subject than what you were planning to make for that subject would not happen. It happened to me during this unit because I wanted to add many activities on my website in IT but in French our teacher only allowed us to do 3 and we could only put those on our website. As an interdisciplinary learner I benefited a lot because I now know how the unit would work and now I know what my strengths are in both the subjects and now I know that in the future I need to make sure everything I plan to do would happen. This interdisciplinary unit helped me understand that you can link subjects together and study and use your knowledge and skills in both subjects to create an amazing final project.

Peer Evaluation- Caroline
I got peer evaluated by Caroline on my website and these are the scores out of 4 that I got for each different category. For the text on my website she gave me a 4 which means it was really good and it fitted the website. It also meant that the text and the background complemented each other and the text was visible and looked attractive to whoever saw it. She also gave me a 4 for the navigation in the website because she was easily able to guide herself through the website and it was easy for her to find the buttons and get to different pages and to get to whatever she wanted. The navigation buttons on my website were easy to follow and we easy to locate which meant that it was easy to navigate through the website. For the content on my website she gave me a 3/2 and there were two reasons behind it. The content on my website was good and it was regularly updated and is relevant to the site and the topics that the year 7's need to learn. The problem with the content was that it was a little confusing. It was confusing because the text and information that was there on the website did not link to the quizzes and the quiz did not load as quick as possible. I need to go back to the website and fix that which means I need to make sure the quiz works and none of the content is confusing to the students. She also gave me a 4 for the navigation orientation which was how I was able to make the navigation easy and what I did to make the navigation easy. She was able to determine location on all the pages of the website. Also for the links and roll overs she gave me a 4 because all the links that I included work and are easy to identify. Also all the rollovers that I included work. On the graphics I got a 3 because the graphics were related to the theme/purpose of the website, and they were of good quality and the student has interest or understanding but the palm trees are in the background and they do not relate to the topic so I am going to go back and put a background that relates to the purpose. For the principles of design I also got a 4 because all principals were applied consistently throughout the web site. For the professional look and feel I got a 3 because the web pages did have an attractive and usable layout and it was easy to locate all the important elements but on the last page with the over all vocabulary the pictures were not clear and the were photographed with my phone which is not professional and I need to change that. For the website I think I did quite well but I do need to make slight changes so that the student using it has no problem in any way to access the activities/ vocabulary and the whole website should relate to the theme so that the student is always attracted to it!
Peer Evaluation: Aanya
I am very happy with the Peer Evaluation that Aanya gave me because every single category meets the expectations and I got either a 3 or 4 in each one. For the text she gave me a 4 which means that the text and the background complement each other and the text and the background look together and it is easy for the student to read the text and it is also attractive at the same time. For navigation she also gave me a 4 because navigation buttons are easy to locate and follow which means it was easy for her to get around the different pages on the website and they were easy to find as well. For the content she gave me a 3 which meant it was regularly updated content and is relevant to the site which means it is still French but I could have got a higher score with more activities on the website so there was more to do for the students. For professional look and feel she gave me 3 because the web pages have an attractive and usable layout and is easy to locate all important elements but the problem was that on the last page the photos for the helpful vocabulary I took was from my phone which was mentioned in the other evaluation as well and next time for the website, I need to make sure I write out the words or take a more clear picture. I think this peer evaluation was very good and she gave me a few 3's and that's because of some small things that are missing or are not of good quality and I need to fix those mistakes.

Self Evaluation
For my website I was able to include every single thing that we had to include and I did it really well. The first things was the tasks and the three tasks that the French teacher had set us which is Comprehension, Dialogue, and Spelling are all on the website. They are each put on different pages of the website and they look very good and are all correct and are easy to use for the students. There are also buttons on the website which lead to the different pages of the website and there is a separate page for all the buttons for the different pages and there is also the task bar at the top which you can use to guide you through the different pages of the website. There are also hyperlinks on all the pages of the activities because on each page there had to be questions and I used a website online to create a quiz that including all the questions and I had to put the link onto the website. The homepage for my website is very good as it is relevant to the topic and it has pictures and colors that are also related to the topic. On the homepage there are also buttons with link that lead to different websites about facts of France. There are different boxes answering different questions for the students that they would want to know about the website. There are also quotes about the French language by famous people. There are also the other three pages which include all the content which are the three task that the French teacher set us to do and they are there on the website with the questions. There are pictures about the topic or France on each page of the website as well. There is a video explaining the vocabulary about the different topics that I had to embed from You tube and it explains the vocabulary the students need to know before they do the activity. Last but not least the website serves the purpose for the audience which is the Year 7's learning French and that is exactly what the website is made for.

Weekly Reflections- Week 4
Week 4: This was my final week to finish off my website and I was able to do a good job because I finished every single page that I needed to include in the website. The two final pages that I completed was the vocabulary test and the helpful overall vocabulary for each different topic. The first page I had to complete was the vocabulary test. On that page, I had to include the vocabulary exercises that our French teacher told us to do. There were two exercises with 10 questions each on two different topics which were colors and classroom objects. Both the quizzes were created by the same website I used to create the other quizzes and they are also multiple choice.

The student would get the name in English and would have to choose the correct translation of it in French. The final page was the helpful vocabulary page which is the vocabulary that the teacher gave us to use in our website and I put a picture of all the vocabulary on the last page so the students could refer to it if they did not understand the video or needed more help. I think the website looks very good now and it is suitable for the Year 7's to use as it has a good design, is attractive and easy to navigate around and is also very informative and fun which would teach the students just learning French very well.

Weekly Reflections- Week 3
Week 3: In this week, I was able to make the same progress as I did last week as I was able to finish two pages which were the dialogue with questions page which was another one of the activities I had to include on the website and I also added the vocabulary video which is there to help the students complete the activity. On the activity page there is the entire dialogue that our French teacher told us to write and I had to write it on to the website. Next to the dialogue which is about introducing yourself and two people are talking to each other about themselves there is a picture with two people talking to each other that I got from the internet. Under the picture is the quiz which is about the dialogue and after the student has finished reading the dialogue they can then answer the questions about the dialogue and about introducing yourself. The quiz is made from the website that I used to create the other quiz as well and once the students answers it all right he can see what he did. I also changed the page color of this page for a different feel and then the student would not get bored and they would still be attracted to the website. The color is also the same as the banner. At the bottom of the page there is pictures of students in school/working and it would give motivation to the students that are using the website. Then the next page that I did was the vocabulary video which is the sub page and it teaches you all the vocabulary/ sentence structures that you would need to know to do the activity. The page color is also the same as the normal page. I think that these two pages look very good and neat and attractive to the students and I made good progress in this week as well and I am hoping that in the coming week I am able to finish the website and start doing the evaluations/reflections.
Weekly Reflections- Week 2
Week 2: In this week, I was able to finish my first exercise and the vocabulary video to go with it. The first exercise that I finished was the comprehension which was about the family and I had to write what we were asked to write by the French teacher in class. I wrote the paragraph and I then added a picture of a family next to it. Under the information about the family there is the quiz which is about the family and they are the questions that are related to the text. I created the quiz with an online website that is used to create quizzes and I put the 10 questions that I made on that quiz with multiple choice answers. The background of the page is the French flag because the whole website is about French. The sub- page which you can go to from the activity choosing page or from the task bar is the vocabulary video. The video is what I got from you tube and it is a video explaining french family words that would help the year 7 students to the exercise much easily. I had to embed the video from you tube and it works properly now. I think that the two pages I created look very good and are similar to my plan except that in my plan for the page I had more activities on one page but our French teacher only told us to do one activity on different topics that she gave us and this is what I did. I think I did very well and I made good progress in this week and it looks very good.

Weekly Reflections:Week 1
Week 1: In the first week of creating the website, I was able to finish the homepage and also I was able to finish the choosing the activity page. For the homepage I used a template from Wix which was a tutoring website template and then I changed the colors and the background and I added my own pictures and my own information. As you can see, I named my website French for Beginners because for most of the Year 7's it is the first time that they are learning the language. Then I added a task bar which was there in my design and it contains all the pages that I am going to include in the website. Under the task bar there is a slide show with pictures from France and pictures of the school and next to it is the signing up area. When a student signs up to the website, the website sends me an e-mail and I would then know the names of the student and their e-mail. Under the slideshow and sign up, I put an area where the student can read about how the website would help them, what they would learn, and also about me( about the creator of the website). Next to the information there are pictures of France and buttons under each one of them and if you would click on the buttons it would take you to a website with fun facts about that thing. Under everything there is quotes that are in French by famous French people. The background of the page is palm trees which are moving as you go on the website. I think the homepage looks very good and very neat and it looks similar to what I had designed but with a few things added and removed and I like the way it looks now. In the same week, I also made the choosing the activity page and that page is one that I added and was not mentioned in my design. On the page there is a paragraph saying why you should learn French with a picture of a girl working next to it. Under that it shows the different activities on the website. There are buttons under each one saying test yourself or vocabulary video and when you click on it it takes you directly to the page. This page is very useful because it will make things easier for the students to guide themselves around the website. The background is also the same palm trees and it is the same on every page of the website. In the first week I made good progress and I was able to create two important pages of the website that look very good and better than my designs that I made. The banner of the website which is the top also stay's the same through each page of the website.

Reflection- Web designs: Web Pages 2
This is my other design for the web pages and this is one of the topics that I am actually going to include as one of the activities. In the design you can see that the topic is Family and under it is a text. The text will be about a Family which is what we are writing in French class and there is going to be questions under it. It is a comprehension activity which is something that the Year 7's would actually be doing and they would be having test's and classes where they will learn about the Family. With this page in the website it would help them a lot for their learning. Under the Comprehension activity there is a matching up the pictures to the text activity where there are three pictures and three pieces of text and the student would have to put the correct ones together. This activity is good because it would not take that long and it would not be that hard but at the same time the student is still learning something. The next activity is a spelling test where there would be the English meaning of the word or a picture and the student would have to translate it into French. The words will be related to the topic and they will not be that hard or something that the student has never learnt. The last activity is the fill in the blanks where there would be a sentence related to the topic and there would be words missing and the students would have to fill it in with the word options below. I think that this web page is better than the other one because there are more activities that would attract the students and make them want to keep doing and it and there are pictures other than the ones related to the activity which would make the page look nice. I choose this web page and I think I am going to use this one for my website but I will make changes to it and add more colors to the background and I will also make sure that it is more spaced out and it is more attractive.

Reflection- Web Designs: Web Pages
This is one of the webpage designs that I had created for my website. In this webpage there are many different things that you can see including activities and images. The topic on the page was just an example and is not the real topic that I am going to put on the website. On this webpage you can see that there are 4 activities. One of the activities is matching up the images to the correct text. The other one is a comprehension which has a text about the topic I would include and there is questions under it. The last one is Images with a text and there will be questions about the images which the students will have to answers. I think for this web page design I did very well because I have many different short activities that are included which the Year 7 students would enjoy and it would not be that hard for them to do but at the same time they would be learning something that would help them in the French Class. I think that for this design I could have included more pictures that were not the pictures for the activities and something to attract the students to the pages. I could have also included a good background and made it more colorful. The way that the activities will work is that once the question is answered by the students, it would show a tick or cross beside it to show if the student got it correct or wrong and the matching activity there will also have to be a drag and drop kind of thing so that it is easier for the students to use and they would actually have to interact and do the activity other than just looking at it and answering it in their head.

Reflection- Web Design: Homepages
In our first week of making our own websites for Year 7 French learners as our IDU task, we had to first start designing our websites on a piece of paper or on the computer. In this week I was able to create 2 designs which were my homepage designs where I including all the things that I wanted in my website.

From my two designs, you can see that I named my website French for Beginners as this would be the first time for the Year 7's learning French and the website will include everything that they would need to learn to be prepared in school. In the first design I included a sign in box where the student that is going to use the website can sign up using their email and whenever they want to use the website again, they can come on it and log in and all their progress will be saved. There is also a tab bar where the student can guide themselves through the website and through the different pages by just clicking on one of the buttons on the tab bar. Next to the sign up and tab bar there is going to be a slideshow where it is going to be saying Hello! in different languages, including French. On the other side there will be quotes by famous French people about the language or about France in general. Under all of those things, there will be and area where you can choose your level of difficulty and also which topic you would want to learn. Once you click on it, it would take you directly to the page where you can start learning. Then the rest of the things are showing who created the website ( which is me) and also what you are going to learn on the website and why you should learn french which are both in paragraphs in boxes. The second design is the same as the 1st except in a different format and there are some things added like the levels instead of difficulties and also more activities. I think my designs for the website are quite good but once I get to creating the website, I might have to remove some things as the website might not be able to make it and I would also need to add other things to fill the space as well as figuring out how to direct the students to different pages and also make it much easier for them to use the website. I would also need to figure out a way of how I would make the sign up work so that it saves their progress every time they come back to the website. Term-3 Multi-Language Website ( Interdisciplinary Unit with MFL)
Statement of Inquiry:
Designers must consider the multiple cultural perspectives in communicating effectively by way of language to suit the need of the end users.
Task:
To create a Multi- Language website
Target Audience:
Grade 7 students
Introduction:
I am a student in Grade 9DD and I have been learning French for 5 years now. I am quite good at French and I am going to make a website for Year 7 students to get better and learn more things in the Language outside school. In Grade 9 we are now learning a lot of different grammar and we are learning a lot of vocabulary. Right now in French we are learning about technology and in the past I have learnt all the basics of french like the days of the week, months, about the family and numbers. On the website that I am making, I am going to talk about the family and teach the Grade 7 students how to write a description about their family and also teach them the vocabulary about the members in the family. As I have learnt french for so long, I think I would be able to teach students in the school a little bit about the basics of French and vocabulary and grammar in the different topics that I have learnt so far using the skills I have learnt in IT and MFL. I am quite good at learning and memorizing vocabulary in French and I have been able to achieve quite high levels and I think I could share what I have learnt to help the students a little. French is one of the three languages that I learn in school and I find it very interesting as it is very different to my native language and it is also much easier than Arabic so I am much better in French. In French I am also very good at comprehension and writing and I would be able to prepare questions and also make the students do writing task using my website so that would help them in the future to help them get better marks.
There are ready made tools that enable you to create a website such as wix and weebly. There are web authorizing software's like Dream Weaver that enables you to design your own website from scracth.

It is a software that is specifically designed to gain access into someone else's computer, it is like a virus. To prevent against Malware, you could install an anti- virus/ anti- malware software to defend against it. You also have to keep the anti- virus software up to date so that you are always safe. You also have to make sure that you are in a safe place to use Wi-fi like your house that would be more safe than at an airport which is open to many people. Make sure that it is safe to click what you are going to click on and avoid bad links that could install a malware into your computer.You should also keep personal information safe and remember not to use open wifi in places that you do not know. You should also always back up all the files that you use and last but not least you have to make sure to have strong passwords for every single different account that you have.

The term Hacker originally denoted a skilled programmer proficient in machine code and computer operating systems. In particular, these individuals could always hack on an unsatisfactory system to solve problems and engage in a little software company espionage by interpreting a competitor's code. Unfortunately, some of these hackers also became experts at accessing password-protected computers, files, and networks and came to known as crackers. To avoid being hacked you have to make sure to be safe in public wifi as any hacker might be able to get into your phone or any device and steal your important information. Leave the open network when you are not using it or turn off wifi when you are not using it so that nobody can hack your device without you knowing.Use VPN more often and also make sure that the passwords you use are strong and hard to guess. Make sure that the apps you are using are not dodgy and is safe to use so that you can prevent hacking!
Firewall- Makis and Ahmed:
Firewall has a hardware and software included in it and with the hardware is the physical part of the computer and it can completely switch off any device and it can block access to your computer. The software can also block websites for you to not use and things that you cannot go into which can also be bad. Some types of firewall are safe as it can be used for parents or schools to guard website they do not want the children to use.

Statement Inquiry- Development in Technology, Blessing or Cursing and Impact on society
These days technology in the world is developing faster than it used to before and each day there is always a new piece of technology that comes out. At least 50% of the worlds population have technology that they own or have at least interacted with it once or twice. Technology now comes in many different ways like phones, tablets, laptops, and even watches that you can speak through. THIS NEVER EXISTED BACK THEN! Technology can also be seen in two different ways, it could either be a blessing or a curse to the society today and in my opinion I think that it is both. It has equally damaged our society and helped it develop immensely. Without technology this developed today, people would not be having the jobs they have today, life would be much harder and it would not be as fun as it is seen now. Nowadays technology can be used for many different purposes like for people to communicate with family or friends, follow some of their favorite celebrities, play online games with friends and do many things that bring people closer around the globe. Back in the past technology was just used for making life and survival in big companies easier by now with all the modern technology it has changed the way we learn, the way we think, the way we communicate and the way we entertain ourselves.
With more communicative technology around the world, it has made it easier to talk to people without going to meet them personally with social medias like whats app, Facebook and Twitter. Back then when people had no technology people had to send each other letters that were written by hand and send them by the post office, then technology developed and they were able to send them electronic mails by computers, now technology has come so far that hardly anybody sends mails any more other than work purposes and now they all use chats on social medias. Technology is also now being used in places like schools to help students learn better and make there lives easier, nowadays there is no such thing as research from books or even books at all other then the ones you write in. Soon there will be no books at all. Before teachers used to have to write everything for the students to copy down on the board, now it's all converted into power points. All students homework would have to be handwritten and teachers would have to write out the test papers themselves, Now most homework has become an online thing and they can print it out, teachers can just type out the test and print out as many copies as possible.
Technology has developed so much now and it is surely going to be even more to the coming future. If technology was not as developed as it is today life would obviously be much harder but at the same time much less complicated since everything today relies on the internet?technology so without that the world would probably stop living today. Now with all the blessings that technology has given us with making everything easier and developing the world further with it, it has also left a curse with it. As they all say ,everything that has a good has to also have a bad. Since technology has developed so much it has massively affected our society and how each individual lives today. Since technology has created the easy use of so much communication with people around the world or just your friends it has meant that people are being less communicative with the people right next to them and when they are face to face they are hardly even talking and they are just attracted to the technology. The development of technology has meant that people are allowed to do almost anything they want on something that could just fit in your pocket or you just easily carry around.
Technology has created so many problems in the world as some peoples jobs completely rely on technology and without it they can't do anything, this means once the whole world starts using technology and doesn't work the world will stop working. Technology has made social networks where you can chat with people that are far from you or you don't meet that often but these days people use it to talk when they are right next to each other, or talk to other people when they are next to each other, they are still being social but not in real life when there is a friend or a person you know next to you. Technology can also be used for dangerous ways like cyber bullying and troubling people you don't know or don't like and it can stay there forever. I think technology has done many things to the world in terms of developing it and make it an easier place to live but also equally damaging the social part, it has completely change how we look at the world as an individual and to the future it will just keep getting worse or better, much better. Technology for me is more of a blessing to me for entertainment, communication and education and it has changed my life since I found out about it. There are many things that are curses like not communicating face to face and also being less active but I try and keep it balanced and it has a good impact on me!

Back then when people had no technology people had to send each other letters that were written by hand and send them by the post office, then technology developed and they were able to send them electronic mails by computers, now technology has come so far that hardly anybody sends mails any more other than work purposes and now they all use chats on social medias. Technology is also now being used in places like schools to help students learn better and make there lives easier, nowadays there is no such thing as research from books or even books at all other then the ones you write in. SWOT Analysis- Criteria A
Strengths-
- The strengths for our project is that our project is very easy to make and it will not take that long to make.
- Also that we can easily change our project up because all the materials used are reused.
- All the power points and information about the project is easy to make because there is a lot of information about our project.

Weaknesses-
- Some of the weaknesses for our project is that our project can easily be damaged
- The camera which is used for the spy camera can only be used with internet
- The car can not go very, very far and it has to be always controlled with the remote

Opportunities-
- If this project can be done and made very well it can be used in the army to spy on people
- If it is really good it can be used in bigger tech fairs outside school and win competitions
- We can get a good mark

Threats-
- If the camera get’s lost we will lose a lot of money since the camera is expensive and it will be hard to get back
- If the project breaks the engine and the camera will be damaged which will then mean we can’t use it anymore

Tech Fair project created by others- 4/1/16
What was the product or software
developed and how does it work?
The product that was developed was a chemical sniffing Lego robot that was created by Anna Simpson and it is used to fight terrorism by detecting chemicals. She built a mobile robot that was built out of Lego bricks and some simple electric parts. It is able to detect and react to chemical spills using a porous silicone chip that changes colour when it comes in contact with the compound.

A chemical sniffing Lego robot was developed and the product benefits the society by fighting and helping people against terrorism since it is able to detect the compound with a certain chip. She is also trying to make it possible for the law enforcement to use it and it becomes a popular product to detect chemicals.
Critical Judgement – Looking at
the product from different angles trying to find out flaws and benefits of the
product.
I think the product has a lot of benefits since the army will be able to use this as one of their products or weapons to easily detect terrorism and it will help the people of the society and try to stop it. I think the only flaws would be that I want to know how the product would be controlled and how would this be able to defend itself since Lego is not that strong

went. What were the keywords that you used in the search engine to get your
results. Did you get your results in the first attempt? What were the problems
that you faced when searching and how did you refine your search to get the
desired result?
My research went very well as I was typing out amazing tech fair ideas and I found what I needed since I was looking for something that I would possibly be able to make as well. The problems I faced when researching were that I was not able to find mainly tech ideas it was more science fair ideas. I changed my research to make it top 10 tech fair ideas so I could find the best.
